Feather & Powder Brows

Known as a Cosmetic Tattoo, Brow Reconstruction, Microblading, Feather Touch Brows and the Ombre Technique. This revolutionary long-lasting makeup effect provides a solution for those wanting to recreate eyebrows and enhance features, whether you need to cover gaps, fully reconstruct, or fill in over plucked brows. This advanced form of cosmetic tattoo is a way to ensure beautifully symmetric semi-permanent eyebrows lasting anywhere up to 2 years. The treatment requires 2 sessions 4-6 weeks apart and an annual refresh is recommended.

FEATHER BROWS

Feathering is performed by depositing pigment superficially into the reticular layer of the dermis. Precise delicate strokes are etched into the skin with a handheld tool creating incredibly natural-appearing “brow hair”. Feathering reconstructs the brow while achieving a natural look.

POWDER BROWS

The Powder technique achieves a softly filled ombre effect for a more defined brow. Using state of the art equipment, tiny dots are tapped into the superficial layer of the dermis and pigment is deposited. A great option for certain skin types and those who prefer more of a powdered makeup look.

COMBINATION BROWS

Combining feather strokes with the powder effect. Strokes are feathered from the front of the brow toward the centre then transitioned into a powder brow. Ideal for those after a feather look and powder brow retention.

F.A.Q.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

  • Everyone’s skin heals and responds to the pigment differently however the tattooing will generally last anywhere from 6 months up to 18 months. We do recommend a “brow refresh” for all clients within 12 months of your treatment.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT?

  • Avoid alcohol & Caffeine- the night before and on the day of the procedure.

  • Avoid glycolic scrubs, topical vitamin A and C 1 week prior.

  • Avoid antibiotics 1 week prior

  • Avoid Ibuprofen, blood thinners, Aspirin, Fish oil 1 week prior.

  • Avoid botox & fillers 2 weeks post and prior.

CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE HEALING PROCESS AND AFTERCARE?

  • Your brows will take approximately 7 to 10 days to heal.

  • You may experience slight swelling for the first 3 – 4 days.

  • You may also experience some flakiness throughout the healing process.

  • It is very important not to touch or scratch the area.

  • Do not get your brow tattoo wet for 7 days or sweat for a minimum of 5 – 7 days after the procedure.

  • It is important to keep the area that has been tattooed completely clean (no makeup, cleansers etc) throughout the healing process.

  • After your treatments, you will be given an aftercare balm that is to be applied very sparingly 3 times a day until the area has healed completely.

  • Your brows will appear 30-50% darker than the desired result while they heal.

  • Once the flaking has completed the brows may look faint with loss of pigment.

  • Colour loss is caused by a protective barrier & brow's reappear approximately 4 weeks after your treatment.

DOES IT HURT?

  • A topical anaesthetic is applied prior to your treatment and continually applied to decrease discomfort throughout the procedure as well. It is important to remember that everyone’s pain threshold is different and your comfort is of the utmost importance throughout the whole duration of your treatment.

HOW WILL IT LOOK IMMEDIATELY AFTER?

  • Bear in mind the colour will appear approximately 30 – 50% darker than the desired shade for the following 7-10 days after your procedure.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?

  • The process generally requires two sessions. Following the initial procedure a “touch up” treatment is required within 4 to 6 weeks. Occasionally a client may require a third session (additional touch up). This is usually due to the client's individual skin type as some skin types are more resistant to the implantation of the pigment.

HOW LONG DOES AN APPOINTMENT TAKE?

  • Microblading takes approximately 1 to 2 hours including a very thorough consultation and 20 minutes numbing prior to your treatment.

CAN I WEAR MAKEUP TO MY APPOINTMENT?

  • We ask that you avoid makeup on the area being treated however if you are coming straight from work it is no issue at all, we can remove your makeup for you.

WHAT FACTORS WILL AFFECT MY MICRO- FEATHER BROWS?

  • Lifestyle - Your sun exposure, swimming in chlorinated pools, exercise and perspiration.

  • Medications - Some medications can cause the skin to resist the pigment and hasten the fade out rate of the tattoo

  • Iron deficiencies / Anaemia / Frequent Smoking – May cause increased bleeding during the procedure and hasten the fade out rate of the tattoo.

  • Skin Type – The tattooing will generally fade out at a faster rate on oily skin.  Glycolic scrubs, topical vitamin A&C, Active products will fade the tattooing faster and should be avoided for 1 week prior to your appointment. It will also assist the longevity of your tattooing to completely avoid using these products on the tattooed area post-treatment.

  • Alcohol / Caffeine – Both should be avoided the night before and on the day of your procedure.
